Intended to address unsheltered homeless people.
This week, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released a $365 million package to address unsheltered homelessness. This grant funding is meant to curate networks of aid between homeless shelters, health care organizations, and public housing authorities to create an integrated approach to aiding those who live on the streets. Funds from this package have been set aside specifically for rural homelessness as well.
“Solving unsheltered homelessness means delivering help to the people who need it the most, but who have the hardest time reaching it,” said Secretary Marcia Fudge. “With this funding, communities will have the resources to scale up coordinated efforts to humanely and effectively move people from encampments into homes by linking homeless outreach with health care, treatment, and housing.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Fudge as her agency addresses unsheltered homelessness.
- For HUD officials as they implement the grant program for the homeless.
- That those living on the streets would avail themselves of resources from government departments.
